CEREC Prosthetics Wrocław.
The CEREC system is at the forefront of modern prosthetics.
Prosthetics is an extremely dynamic field of dentistry that currently offers revolutionary solutions. One such solution is the innovative CEREC (CERamic REConstruction) system, which enables the creation of high-quality prosthetic restorations in just one visit to the MedicaDent clinic.
What is CEREC? – All-ceramic prosthetic treatment
CEREC is a CAD/CAM system that enables you to scan, design and carry out prosthetic work using a variety of materials. The most commonly used materials include:
- ceramics
- composites
- zirconium oxide

The CEREC system uses virtual 3D projection, meaning a single visit is enough to obtain a precise model of the jaw. There is no need to take impressions of the teeth, a process which often causes discomfort, and sometimes even pain, for patients. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the time taken from scanning to receiving the finished crown is reduced to just one day. As a result, you can enjoy a dazzling, healthy smile on the same day.
What does treatment with the CEREC system involve?
The fundamental advantage of the modern CEREC system is that it enables anatomical prosthetic restoration to be performed using a single material (a ceramic block), rather than a standard substructure with ceramic fired onto it.
Traditional methods require collaboration with a dental technician or laboratory, which significantly increases the time needed to complete the work (two to three visits and seven to fourteen days), whereas the CEREC system enables the reconstruction or prosthetic restoration of a tooth to be completed in a single visit.
The convenience of the entire preparatory process — no impressions or temporary crowns — is invaluable and improves the individual stages of prosthetic work. Reconstructing a virtual bite model (individual crown, restoration or filling) guarantees the precision of the work at the highest aesthetic level. This applies to the entire crown, as well as to restorations and fillings.
Thanks to computer scanning, dentists obtain a much more accurate model of the dentition than with traditional impressions. For this reason, no corrections are necessary. In most cases, patients can see the final result on the day of their appointment.

The stages of crown creation using the CEREC system
The stages of crown creation using the CEREC system are completed in a few simple steps. This allows for maximum optimisation of the entire process.
- First, the dentist prepares the site for the selected crown, veneer or bridge.
- Next, the patient’s mouth is scanned using an intraoral camera. This is done using CEREC Omnicam equipment. This provides us with a precise, virtual impression of the bite.
- The next step is to create a computer-aided design. There is no need to send the scan to a laboratory or use the services of a dental technician. The dentist performing the procedure or their assistant can do everything on site.
- The design is then milled to create the final product. This process takes place in a digital machine tool. The virtual design of the crown, veneer or bridge is reconstructed and cut out of a single block of porcelain or other material.
- The finished prosthesis is fitted to the patient’s mouth. Any necessary final adjustments are made, after which the patient can go home.
CEREC Wrocław: crowns on implants in one day
What makes the CEREC digital system so special? This innovative prosthetic solution has three key features. These are:
- Comfort: an accurate model is created using painless intraoral scanning with a CAD/CAM system. This means that the entire process can be completed without the need for traditional impressions, which can cause patients discomfort.
- Speed: you don’t have to wait several working days for the finished product. The entire procedure, from scanning to fitting the finished bridge, veneer or crown, can be completed in a single visit;
- Precision: scanning and milling are performed using specialised computer equipment, which essentially eliminates the risk of a poor fit.
- Aesthetics: CEREC restorations are made of natural-looking materials, making them virtually invisible.
Thanks to these advantages of the CEREC system, more and more people are choosing to have crowns, veneers and bridges made using this technology.
Are CEREC prosthetics suitable for everyone?
CEREC treatment is an ideal solution for patients who want to restore their teeth quickly and comfortably while achieving an aesthetically pleasing result.
CEREC prosthetics are particularly recommended for:
- Patients who want to avoid traditional impressions.
- Patients who value the precision and aesthetics of prosthetic restorations.
- Patients who want to restore their teeth in a single visit.
- Those who are allergic to metals.
CEREC Prosthetics Wrocław – frequently asked questions
What is the price of full ceramic restorations using the CEREC system at Medicadent?
The cost of reconstruction using the CEREC system depends on the material selected and the type of restoration required. This decision is made by the doctor and the patient based on tests performed and aesthetic preferences. The cost is similar to that of traditional crowns and depends on the material used. However, patient comfort and the time required for the procedure are incomparable.
Does the CEREC system use traditional impressions?
No — the CEREC system uses state-of-the-art technology that involves computer scanning instead of traditional impressions. This enables patients to receive a perfect crown, bridge or other restoration on the same day. It is tailored precisely to the patient’s jaw, meaning that in almost 100% of cases, no adjustments are necessary.
How long does it take to get an all-ceramic crown?
Digital crowns can be made on the same day as your appointment. Thanks to a precise scan of your jaw and a virtual impression, your bridge, veneer or crown will be ready to use as soon as you leave the dentist’s office.
How does a crown made with the CEREC system differ from a traditional crown?
Crowns, veneers and bridges designed using CEREC technology are more modern and, above all, can be prepared and fitted in a single visit. This means you avoid having to visit the dentist’s office several times. The scan and digital model also eliminate the need for an impression of the jaw, which many people find unpleasant.

What technologies does the CEREC system use?
CEREC equipment uses state-of-the-art dental technology that enables crowns, veneers and bridges to be fitted without impressions of the jaw being taken. After taking measurements, the CEREC system creates a 3D model and uses it to cut the correct shape from a block of porcelain. Using 3D technology to design the new restoration makes it much more precise, and, as it is cut from a solid block of material, it retains its natural appearance.
What is a CAD/CAM system?
It is a combination of two technologies:
- CAD (Computer Aided Design)
- CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
In dentistry, CAD/CAM systems are used to design and mill prosthetic restorations, such as crowns, veneers, crown-root inlays and bridges.
